It's 2012, Steve Rogers has been out of the ice for two weeks, and he's helped fight off an alien invasion. That'd all be enough to throw a man for a loop, but on top of that, someone who looked like him seems convinced that Bucky is alive. Steve has to get to the bottom of this, the man's appearance, Loki's disappearance with the Tesseract — all the while fielding weirdly knowing looks and comments from his colleagues in SHIELD's STRIKE team.

An AU based on the 2012 part of the time heist in Endgame. Steve knows Bucky is alive but not that he's the Winter Soldier, HYDRA thinks he's one of them, Loki is on the run with the Tesseract. Fully open to making this a GPSL with multiple people. Let's fix Endgame together.

In 1945, in the middle of a critically important mission for the Allied Forces, Steve Rogers, aka "Captain America", fell from a high-speed train, and was designated missing in action. His best friend and brother in arms James "Bucky" Barnes took up the mantle of Captain America in his absence, but his time with the title was short-lived, as he also died mid-mission just a few weeks later. In 2012, Barnes was found, frozen but alive, in the wreckage of the plane he downed and was revived. He's been adjusting to the modern era ever since, working with SHIELD to protect the world, but something big is about to shake up the organization he's reluctantly thrown himself behind — and who is the Winter Soldier?

A Captain America!Bucky/Winter Soldier!Steve AU. Details are flexible — whether Bucky still lost his arm, whether Steve did instead, whether Bucky carried on being Cap in the modern era or no, all of these things are open to working out with others in the PSL. All I want in particular is to play WS!Steve who is, in a lot of ways, worse off than WS!Bucky, due to how much HYDRA had to break him down in order to make him into the Winter Soldier. Angst for days, very bleak.

Also completely open to making this a GPSL with Natashas and Sams and other Avengers thrown in, if we can get a group interested in playing it out! With Natasha I'm interested in incorporating a small amount of her comics canon — ie, the Winter Soldier trained her in the late 90s/early 00s when she was a pre-teen/adolescent, with perhaps a mentor/student romantic relationship forming before they were discovered, Steve was wiped, and Natasha sent away.
